Crusader - Mounted Skeleton
Screenshot of the joints used for both rigs. The warhorse has an abnormally high number of joints; this was done to prevent unwanted deformation for pose and because it needed to be done as quickly as possible. Adding holding joints in the torso, face, and hooves guaranteed that a smooth bind would keep those objects free of influence from the legs or neck with as little weight painting as possible. The entire horse rig was completed in 6 hours. There are also cloth joints on the crusader for posing the cloak and tabard, or simply to use as goals for cloth simulation.
